Specializing In Purebred Heritage Breeding Stock
American Heritage Farm is a 5th generation Centennial family farm located in the central lower peninsula of Michigan. We are committed to producing healthy, quality purebred breeding stock from endangered breeds of livestock.
This farm has been in our family since 1919 and operated mostly as a dairy farm until the 1960s. Since then, we have raised beef cattle, pigs, turkeys, chickens and sheep to feed family and friends. In the past, we've raised animals that are commonly available, and they have done well for us. There were two big drawbacks, however: they consumed a lot of grain and were a lot of work.
We have turned to heritage breeds for two reasons: we can produce healthier food without a lot of grain and time-consuming labor, and by breeding and selling only our best quality breeding stock, we're helping these rare breeds survive and thrive for future generations.
